The Grameen Foundation has announced a new collaboration with Bankers Without Borders to support microfinance and microenterprise development organizations in the US. Through on-site technical assistance, training and mentoring, and remote consulting projects, Bankers Without Borders volunteers will help organizations to increase their scale, sustainability and impact.

The model provides a cost-effective ay for organizations to define and manage volunteer projects and expand their services to reach low-income and underserved entrepreneurs in the US. Bankers Without Borders volunteers are some of the best and brightest minds in the private sector. For volunteers who are US residents, the partnership allows them the opportunity to help make a difference at home where high levels of unemployment have promoted many to try their hand at entrepreneurship.

Bankers Without Borders is one of the first initiatives to strategically use skill-based volunteerism, and it has already managed more than 250 pro-bono projects around the world.
