Corporate Social Responsibility at Lowe's

Lowe’s, the home improvement giant, has provided a comprehensive report on its corporate social responsibility efforts entitled “Better. Together.”

In terms of the workplace, Lowe’s launched a pair of precedent-setting employee benefits including a partnership to offer heart surgery at no cost to eligible full-time employees and a national bus tour to provide free health screenings to more than 70,000 employees. Lowe’s has also earned honors from the EPA and was the first winner of the Energy Star Sustained Excellence Award in Retail.

The company has opened some stores in California and Massachusetts that feature rooftop energy-generation systems using solar power as well. Lowe’s also supports over 3,100 community and education projects in the US, Canada and Mexico through grants totaling more than $30 million.

The company has expanded efforts to revitalize neighborhoods and provide safe and affordable housing in partnership with Habitat for Humanity.
