Promising B Corporation Social Entrepreneurs

B Corporation social entrepreneurs use business techniques to solve social problems. B Corporation certification requires companies to go through a stringent evaluation process with regard to environmental and social accountability, ensuring consumers that their purchases from certified B Corporations are benefiting society.

Recently, Bloomberg BusinessWeek released a report on nine certified B Corporations which it considers to be the most promising this year. These nine companies represent a wide range of industries including consumer products, health care and green building. There are currently over 400 certified B Corporations in the US, representing more than 60 industries.

These dynamic and innovative businesses are attracting interest from investors as a developing asset class which has significant potential for profit as consumers favor these companies. B Corporation certification is available through B Lab, an organization dedicated to driving social change through business.
