Indian social entrepreneur and author Rashmi Bansal believes that more young people in India should be challenged to start social entrepreneurship companies.
She explains the importance of this type of business in her new book “I Have a Dream”, in which she encourages people of all educational backgrounds to pursue entrepreneurship. She believes that the key to success is to have passion, flexibility and patience, and these qualities are not exclusive to those with specialized education. Bansal says that all entrepreneurs share the desire to create their own destinies and forge new paths.
She believes that if more young people are inspired to apply their creativity and enthusiasm to social entrepreneurship rather than starting traditional companies, the country would be better off as a result. She cites the example of Mirakle Couriers, a Mumbai-based company that employs deaf children to deliver packages.
