YouthBuild USA is partnering with Community Builders to provide social entrepreneurship internships for low-income young people who will learn how to build and renovate homes and also develop careers in real estate.

The internships will be available in areas like facilities management and construction at Community Builders affordable housing sites. Participants will have the opportunity to earn GEDs or diplomas while while learning practical job skills. For example, a team of ten YouthBuild graduates will work to renovate two apartments in a neighborhood of Providence, Rhode Island.

The internships represent a full-time, paid opportunity which benefits everyone involved. It is a good example of how partnerships between nonprofits can social enterprises can accomplish more for communities. Low-income young people aged 16 to 24 are eligible to participate in the program.
