Social entrepreneurship projects in Ghana that help women and children also benefit the economic development of the country most. Many studies have highlighted the importance of the role of women in economic development, since most children tend to acquire a spirit of creativity from their mothers during their early development.

Therefore, if a high percentage of the women in a country lack education and skills, this will tend to disadvantage their children as well. In Ghana, the Ministry of Women and Children’s Affairs helps to direct government action on women’s development projects. There have been some increases in the budgetary allowance for this organization, but the gap in services for women and children is still large. Social entrepreneurs can help to fill this gap and achieve the millennium development goals of promoting gender equality.
