Harris & Harris Accountancy Services is another UK company which is helping to encourage social entrepreneurship training overseas. The company is planning to open an office in the Caribbean in an effort to promote entrepreneurship on the island of Barbados.

The founders of the company see it as a way to improve the problems of poverty on the island while introducing the concept of social enterprise. Young people on the island currently rely on the government for jobs, due to a lack of private enterprise outside of the tourism sector.

Harris & Harris is uniquely qualified to help spread the social enterprise model, as they were the first accountancy in the UK to become certified as a Community Interest Company. They are also the only social enterprise accountancy firm in the city of Birmingham.
