The UK corporation Diageo is partnering with the British Council to fund a social entrepreneurship training program in China. This three year program seeks to identify and equip a new generation of NGO workers in China who have the skills and desire to solve social problems using business strategies.

The Diageo Dream Fund will finance training programs in five major cities in China, and the programs have selected over 250 participants so far via n online application process. Diageo is investing over $100,000 in these programs which will provide training for both new and existing social entrepreneurs who want to scale their operations.

The British Council is able to bring their expertise as a pioneer in social enterprise networks to help support the training, which will teach participants the basics of starting social enterprises and turning their ideas into reality using market techniques.
