A student social entrepreneurship initiative at the World Youth Peace summit at the University of Hartford is called ‘Pathways to Peace.’

The inaugural summit was organized by Dan Doyle through his Institute for International Sport, and it took place in conjunction with the World Scholar-Athlete Games in Connecticut. High school students who attended the summit said that it helped them to engage with others from different backgrounds in a conversation about world peace.

Student athletes like Tobias Cropper got the opportunity to play sports on a team with students from different countries, while summit attendees enjoyed workshops where they devised Pathways to Peace initiatives to apply in their local communities. Experts who spoke at the conference included UN delegates, congress members, musicians, academics and Gen. Colin Powell who gave the concluding address of the summit.
