Even before the financial crisis, an MBA in social entrepreneurship was becoming a popular option among US graduate students. The Wall Street corruption revealed by the crisis seemed to accelerate this trend, with more top schools adding social entrepreneurship programs to their offerings.
- Some of the best schools for social entrepreneurs today include the Yale School of Management, which also offers a pioneering program which subsidizes educational loans for graduates who work in the nonprofit sector.
- Stanford Graduate School of Business is another excellent choice, offering a newly launched fellowship program for social entrepreneurs which will award $80,000 stipends to several graduating MBAs.
- The Fuqua School of Business at Duke University offers another top MBA program for social entrepreneurs, which features classes with a pioneer in the subject professor Greg Dees.
