The social entrepreneurship company called Domestic Aesthetic is based on the philosophy of “Live Well, Live Right.” This means that they seek to develop products that enhance lifestyle while taking into account people and the planet.

Domestic Aesthetic‘s mission is to offer consumers affordable home products that adhere to environmental and socially responsible standards. The company was founded by Diane Ruengsorn, and was born from her experiences in the furniture industry. While she was working as an apprentice for a furniture designer/manufacturer, Diane witnessed the chemicals and materials that workers were exposed to on a daily basis. This led her to think of ways that furniture products could be produced with materials and methods that don’t cause harm in the process. The company’s line of ecoluxe housewares can now be found in stores across the US and Canada, including the MoMa Design store.
