SMIT is a social entrepreneurship company that takes a new approach to developing sustainable technology. They are currently taking orders for their first commercially available version of Solar Ivy, a solar energy product that looks and behaves like natural ivy on buildings.

The design team at SMIT creates Sustainably Minded Interactive Technology that offers eco-efficient solutions, education and products for sustainable modern living. They combine green consultancy with sustainable product development to promote sustainability through biomimicry. This is the principle of design based on natural forms, functions and processes.

Over the past five years, SMIT has become recognized as a pioneer in the sustainable design community. Their design work has been widely exhibited and published, and is included in the permanent collection of the Museum of Modern Art in NYC.
