Online Video Marketing for Nonprofits

Online video marketing for nonprofits can add a real boost to your marketing campaign.

Just as music videos revolutionized the music industry 20 years ago but didn’t replace radio, online video works best a complement rather than a replacement for traditional marketing channels. One of the key tips for effective online video use is to keep it short and sweet, preferably under 2 minutes.

A powerful application of video is to deliver timely feedback to donors, which can included conversation between donors and beneficiaries via video diaries. Many online visitors to nonprofit sites today actually expect to be able to view online video content, and this is especially true of younger demographics.

Video content will be most effective if it is authentic and creative rather than staged, and quality matters in terms of production.
