Non profit organizations’ social media, whether it is social networking for business organisations or charity organisations, use can be improved by following a few tips.
The first one is to select the best social networks for your message. You should look beyond just network size, because some smaller social networks may be more effective if they are more targeted to your audience. Starting small with just a few social networks can be a good way to get a feel for the technology before aggressively expanding your presence in the social space.
Another tip is to look for experts in social networking that can assist you in setting up a social network presence. Whether it’s an intern, staffer or volunteer, having someone experienced in social networking can make a big difference.
Once you select a social networking business tool, you can use what’s called a ‘scattershot’ approach to extend your impact. Rather than just setting up a profile, you should also create a group or event or even sponsor another group or community.
