Google+ social media for nonprofits promises to be an exciting new avenue for promoting charities online. With brand pages expected to launch this fall, staff of nonprofit organizations should be preparing their Google+ Entity Profiles by setting up a Google+ Profile now. You’ll want to add you organization’s Twibbon and avatar to the the profile picture to brand your profile, and also add links to your blog, website, and other social networking sites. You’ll also want to add the Google +1 button to your website and blog to increase traffic and SEO. The code is easy to copy and paste into your site. While you can’t create a vanity URL directly on Google+ today, you can do so through a third-party app called gplus.to. You simply enter your Google+ ID and your username and click “Add” to create the vanity URL for your profile.
