Social Entrepreneurship Job in Uganda

A social entrepreneurship job in Uganda and Nigeria is available with organizations like Village Enterprise Uganda and Paradigm Initiatives Nigeria. These organizations focus on creating jobs in poor communities through the start up and operations of sustainable new businesses. These jobs can help to raise families and entire communities out of desperate poverty and lay the foundation for economic development and lasting social change.

Currently the need for help is greatest in the rural areas of Uganda where a staff of 20 people at Village Enterprise have been working for the last 7 years to improve the economic conditions of local villagers. Among the 20 people employed in Uganda include 12 business mentors who work to inspire local people to overcome their fears and launch new business ventures, including growing high value agricultural crops on their land.

I have come to learn about AFRICA RURAL CONNECT through The Chrysalis Centre in Kampala- Uganda. When I was in Uganda in August- September 2011 I met Ben Parkinson of The Chrysalis Centre. He and I were part of the Team that launched Social Entrepreneurship – Uganda
The Chrysalis Centre is the headquarters of the Butterfly Project for young social entrepreneurs and it is here where some young people are trained up to become change-makers.
I was impressed by the concept and objectives of the organization. I invited a team of youngsters The Chrysalis Centre Butterfly project to visit my Fish farm and they were impressed by the basics of starting up rural fish-farming.

This year I would like to invite AFRICA RURAL CONNECT or any of your sister organizations to partner with my KII2M Fish Farm to serve the rural youth in Fort Portal. My KII2m Fish Farm is a fully registered Company limited dedicated to social entrepreneurship for the rural population(orphans, women and youth in particular). KII2M Fish Farm is located on Fort Portal –Kasese Road about 18 miles from Fort Portal Town- Western Uganda.
I have 2 big Fish ponds and four(4 smaller ponds with about 30,000 tilapia fish and some catfish. I would like to donate one year proceeds of my Fish farm to any organization that joins me in promoting the social entrepreneurial spirit of rural youth in Fort Portal- western Uganda. Ideally I would like a partner organization that can co-manage KII2M Fish Farm for the nex three years (2012-2015).
