An upcoming workshop in Melbourne, Australia will be focused on social entrepreneurship. I’m currently in Australia, myself, and it’s great to see social entrepreneurship being shared over here.
Designed for budding social entrepreneurs who have an idea they want to develop, the workshop will focus on candid conversations about setting up a social enterprise, including what mistakes to avoid. Social entrepreneurs will share their thoughts and experiences about what strategies are most effective for gaining public attention on social issues, as well as what it takes to raise money online.
Several successful social entrepreneurs will be featured at the workshop, including Grace McQuilten who established The Social Studio. She will discuss what she’s learned over the last five years about social entrepreneurship. The Social Studio works with young refugees to develop their self-esteem, skills and employment prospects using fashion design and retailing as a starting point.
